Are you currently a Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or Deafblind student at a college or university?
If so, do consider joining a Deaf college bowl team and join the Deaf College Bowl Championships during the biennial National Association of the Deaf (NAD) conference.
There are currently six schools participating: Gallaudet University, Rochester Institute of Technology/National Technical Institute of the Deaf, California State University Northridge, University of Minnesota Twin Cities, University of Texas, and Southwest Collegiate Institute for the Deaf.
Don't attend any of those six? Consider creating a team at your school! The NAD and the six teams would LOVE to see more colleges and universities send their teams to up the competition and the FUN! Find four Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or Deafblind players, a coach or two, and some funding and you're well on your way to joining the ranks and into the history books!
Not a student? Do encourage those that you know who might be interested in joining or forming a team. Further information and contact information can be found by clicking here, or going to the NAD website: http://www.nad.org/youth/college-bowl .
The next competition will be held in 2016 during the NAD conference in Phoenix, Arizona on July 5-9. Hoping to see you there, as a team player, as an awesome fan, or part of a NEW school team!
Not sure if you've got what it takes? Check out examples of questions asked during the competition here: http://thecreativepensieve.blogspot.com/2014/08/deaf-college-bowl-trivia-challenge.html
